Week 7

Aug 16, 2026    Jon Nelson

In the scene of Sodom and Gomorrah, two major cities in the Genesis narrative, Lot finds himself housing two angels of the Lord in one of the most wicked cities to ever exist. In an attempt to purge the wickedness, God calls Lot to leave the city with his wife and to not turn back to what they once knew. As Lot leaves, his wife turns back and tries to return to the life she had in the city and is turned into a pillar of salt. We see that God was calling them to go a better way, yet Lot's wife wanted to go back to her own. Through Jesus, we are to leave our own "Sodom," our old life, and to embrace the new way in which He calls us into.
