Here at Central, we put our core values into action through grace teams. Each team represents one of our 5 core values.
Growing
Matthew 22:37-40
When Jesus gives us the Great Commandment in Matthew 22, the commandment tells us that we are to grow in our love of God and grow in our love for our neighbor. Because of Jesus' great love for us, we receive it and respond to Him with a growing love for Him! This team helps with our education ministries within the church, from birth to adults. We offer classes and programs for people of all ages to grow in their love for God and their neighbor.
Reaching
Micah 6:8, Matthew 28:18-20
The Great Commission leaves us with the charge to go. As Christians, we have the responsibility of sharing the good news with people about what Jesus has done for them on the cross. We are changed by the great love that He has shown us, so we seek to show that great love to others. The reaching team looks for ways that they can serve locally, nationally, and internationally. Through hosting Serve Sundays in our community, coordinating work projects in our country, or partnering with ministries around the world, we are passionate about reaching others for the cause of Christ.
Acclaiming
Psalm 63:3-4
David says, "Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands." The love of the Lord is better than this life, so we worship Him through our singing and our praise because He alone is worthy! The acclaiming team helps with Sunday morning worship services and worship nights throughout the year, allowing the body of Christ to come together to sing and lift up our hands to Him.
Caring
John 13:34-35
Just as God has loved us, we are to love one another. Jesus makes it clear to us that whenever we see a brother or sister in need, whatever we do for them, we do for the Lord. Our caring team assists with a variety of care methods: praying for those that are sick or unwell, sending cards to those recovering from a major life event, or doing in-home visits with some of our shut-ins. The heartbeat of our care ministry is to show God's great love to others.
Embracing
Acts 2:42-47
After Jesus' resurrection, the disciples and believers devoted themselves to praying, the apostle's teaching, breaking bread, and fellowship. Being together in a community is an essential part of the Christian faith and something we are devoted to helping create. Our embracing team is always looking for ways that we can engage community and fellowship, especially on Sunday mornings during our services.
